Worthing Regatta 16th May topJ/S men - Pete Neville stroked in place of Tim Young. Wilf Peters rowed bow. 1st Christchurch 2nd Ryde 3rd BTC 4th Shanklin The Junior Men finished 5th out of 10. Event won by Vosper Southampton Coastal Fours Head Sat 25th April topJ/S Men finished 2nd in their section behind Christchurch by 4 seconds, but they finished ahead of Shanklin and BTC. This augers very well for the season provided they keep training and not making pathetic excuses. Her Capitaine Cookie has been filling in where needed and adding much needed focus and dynamism!!!!! Novice Women finished 8th out of 10. Not bad for their first outing. Junior Men wimped out. Shame!! Herr Capitaine is to counsel them in a constructive manner. top The J/S crew, with Steve Cook in for Tim Young, and Ashley Maitland substituting for Stephen Salter as cox, beat the Shanklin J/S crew by 10 seconds to record the fastest time. However, because of Steve Cook's senior status, 30 seconds was added to the time which meant that Shanklin were awarded the trophy on handicap. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
