There was a welcome return to form for Wightlink sponsored Ryde Rowing Clubs Men's Coastal Junior Four crew of Tim Wiggins, Callum Lowe, Francis More, Tom Clark and Cox Bryony Reeve, saw them complete their 5th Championship win of the season at Swanage Regatta on Saturday (5th July) in a close race. They now lead the race for the Hants & Dorset Championship and South coast Representative honours by five points to two.

Further success for the Ryde Club came in the Men's Senior Pairs with a win for Ben Ade and Ian Hayden to keep them in the chase for this Championship and Senior Sculler, Nick Pike, the current Hants & Dorset Champion,  completed a good day for the Club winning his first race of the season with Mike Jenner finishing in 3rd place.

There were also good performances from the other Ryde crews competing. The men's Senior Fours of Ben Ade, Mike Jenner, Nick Pike and Ian Hayden finished second in their final behind old rivals BTC.

Ryde's two Junior Pairs crew both made the final with Callum Lowe and Tom Clark finishing 3rd, with James Eklund and Jamie Lawson finishing in 5th place.

Both Coastal Junior Scullers also reached their final, Ben Ade finishing in 3rd place with Ian Hayden in 4th.

With no Club based in Swanage to organise the Regatta the Association takes responsibility with a leading role for Ryde member and Association Secretary Steve Bull as Regatta Coordinator and the Club give further support to the Regatta by sponsoring the J16 event providing the prizes for the winning crew and those who finished 2nd and 3rd in this event.
