A depleted team from Wightlink sponsored Ryde Rowing Club competed in the re-scheduled Head of the Stour, at Christchurch, on Sunday, 22nd April - but still came away with four Trophies.

In the first division Mike Jenner won the Mens Veteran Single Sculls in a time of 8 minutes 21 seconds with Allan Evans finishing 3rd in this section in a time of 11 minutes 18seconds. Ian Hayden continued his good form in the Men's Coastal Novice Sculls with another win in an impressive time of 8 minutes 25 seconds with Ben Ade, winning the Mens Coastal Junior Sculls, against limited opposition, in a a time of 9 minutes 07 seconds. But there was disappointment for Matt Allsopp in the Mens Senior Coastal Sculls when he hit a sand bar, resulting in a time of 9 minutes 39 seconds and a third place. However he recovered from this to team up with Mike Jenner, Ian Hayden and Ben Ade - with Bryony Reeve coxing, to win the Mens Coastal Coxed Fours in the second division, the premier event of the day, in a time of 7 minutes 49 seconds.

On the previous day Ryde's Junior Lady - Sophie Draper - had competed in the Wessex Region J16 Womens Eight in the Junior Inter-regionals regatta at the National Water Sports Center, in Nottingham, contributing to the teams eighth place, the best result ever by the Wessex Regional Team in this National Event.
