Wightlink sponsored Ryde Rowing Club have competed in their first events of 2006 travelling to Henley for the Henley Fours and Eights Head of the River Race on Saturday, 11th February and to Burway for their Fours and Eights Head on Saturday, 25th February.

Four crews competed at Henley with the best result coming from the Senior Four consisting of  Nick Pike, Mike Jenner, Matt Allsopp and Ian Hayden - competing in the Senior 2 Coxless  Fours event where they finished in a very creditable 4th place against good quality opposition in a time of 11 minutes 18 seconds - just 20 seconds behind the event winners.

The Clubs Junior Senior coxed four of Christy Sullivan, Sam Cocker, Ben Ade and Matt Evans, coxed by Jodie Cocker and racing in the Senior 3 event finished 13th in a strong field in a time of 12 minutes 57 seconds.
