There was a return to winning ways for two of Wightlink sponsored, Ryde Rowing Club's, Four's crews on Saturday (1st July) at the Lymington's Rowing Clubs Regatta, at Milford on Sea.
The Men's Senior Four of Nick Pike, Mike Jenner, Matt Allsopp and Ian Hayden, coxed by Penny Glazzard produced a convincing three length win in their race, following a re-row after the first race was stopped at the turn following an incident and the Junior Ladies crew of Aimee Dibbens, Sophie Draper, Kim Salter and Rachael Brimstone, coxed by Adam Edwards also won convincingly in their best performance for several weeks.
The Men's Junior Senior Crew of Matt Evans, Adam Drocotte, Dave Squibb, Sam Cocker and cox Jodie Cocker - also showed improvement to take second place in their event but the Novice Men's crew of Ian Dyer, James Eklund, Tom Clark and Jamie Lawson will be disappointed with their 3rd place in their final.
In the Senior Sculls, Nick Pike, who has already done enough to retain his Hants & Dorset Championship, notched up his 8th consecutive win with Club colleagues Matt Allsopp in third and Mike Jenner in 4th. Ryde's young Novice Sculler, Tom Clark, finished in 5th place in his final. |
